Edgewave is expanding an established consultancy, which is an unusually good time to join — a proven base of work, with real room to grow into it. You’ll work across whole systems rather than a narrow slice of one, alongside experienced engineers, with hands-on breadth that’s hard to find anywhere else: FPGA, firmware, DSP, hardware and physical product, all in the same building.

Flexible working

We actively support flexible and hybrid working. We want the people who work here to build healthy, balanced lives around their work rather than the other way round, and where the work allows it, we’ll trust you to organise your time in the way that suits you best.

We’re also honest about the limits. A good deal of what we do is hands-on lab and hardware work that has to happen on-site, and some projects carry security requirements that mean working in person. We balance real flexibility against those realities openly — so you’ll always know what a given role or project needs, and we’ll work with you to fit the rest around your life.

Junior FPGA / Embedded Engineer

A development role for an engineer early in their career who wants to grow fast across HDL and embedded firmware. You’ll get genuine responsibility, close mentoring, and exposure to the full product lifecycle.

Embedded Android Developer (6-month Contract / Outside IR35)

A six-month plus contract for an experienced embedded Android developer to work on a companion application running on NXP i.MX8 hardware, with real-time video built on GStreamer. This is platform-level work — the Android framework, native layers and media pipeline — rather than a conventional app-store build.
